Hello.

Well ive just realised that from now on im going to be doing alot of miles in and out around the town.

SO looking for somethign abit better than the zed.

Greenock can be quite hilly at places.

So i was thinking a 50cc scooter(to drive on my car license) but would need to be a nippy one as im coming in around 14.5stone.lol!

Then i was thinking a road legal quad.........but dont know where i stand license wise with this.

Then i was thinkin on a mini, but think budget wise i wouldnt get anywhere near a good one.

Budget wise i was hoping 500 pushing to 600max. Im selling my old motorbike to fund this and hoping to get over 400 for that so was hopeing just to purely use the cash from that for my next run around.

Any ideas chaps?

this is what i really want to be honest........lol;

P.S if somebody can please enlighten me on what kind of license i need for a road legal quad bike would be great, might go for the above.

cheers

quad's are crap on the road - novelty wears off very quickly! Corner crap, can't filter in traffic, and you look like a teenager who's nicked it!!

cg 125.

quite hard to source a decent one.

Would rather prefer to get on i dont have to go sit the CBT again tho.

I would just drive the zed;

£600 to buy something, a couple of hundred to insure it then you have to tax it and maintain it so that is over £1k for the first year. With you spending half of the year off shore surely you will not spend an extra £1k on fuel, as I said before just use the zed and at least you will get there with a smile on your face.

was thinking that mate, when im home im normally 70-80 a week on the car.

SO scooter wise, some are about 400 and insurance groups 3 so would be about 150 to insure. And id probably only use about 1 tank of petrol in 2weeks if i was lucky.lol.

Get a push bike, no fuel costs, no insurance, loss some weight lol / greener, don't look like you've nicked it :D

Get a little old school scirocco - i paid £500 for mine - only 65000 on the clock - cheap insurance, small and nippy but practical too - just a golf in a skirt really.

Cant nip through traffic like a scooter though, but it doesn't matter if it rains.

Honda NSR 125, my mate has one. Its the size of a bigger bike, very revy, ali frame so its light, wide tyres not ones like off a push bike lol, top speed is a 100mph which is good for a 125! And he out corners bigger bikes cos its light and nimble :)

the only nsr to top 100 is gthe smart card jap import of the early 90s. I had one, very thirsty and use loads of oil. the newer two stroke one is can do 100 if modded and then become unreliable. Better off on a 400 vfr nc 30.
