October 12, 200916 yr i know these won't pass the MOT so i am going to pick up new ones from MJP. how on earth do i do it by myself?
October 12, 200916 yr Author do you mean the track rods? one either end of the rack, going to each wheel? eeeerrr i'm not sure. all i know is there is one each side and if they split or don't have enough grease on (or something like that) they will be failed for MOT. was told to jack car up. remove wheen and undo size 16 bolt and a pin. something like that anyway
October 12, 200916 yr Are you mechanically minded? Not a massive job I wouldn't have thought, although I've never done it personally, this might help, and the next few pages might help ya too.... Someone on here who has done it will be here soon to help ya out a bit more, i think the only awkward bit would be cracking the universal joint, and maybe rusted bolts and that.... October 12, 200916 yr Have a look at page 16, 'Tie Rod', bottom left, looks like you will just need to change those, but if that is what you need to change, make sure you mark the thread as you'll have to un-screw it, and get it back in the same place, as your tracking will be out....
