October 1, 200917 yr Hi i have replaced a Oil Temp Gauge with a different model, is it okay to use the existing send wire on the new gauge? (i've already done it, just want to check its okay) Also, i see some gauges are "stepper motor variety" , are there other types? Cheers Rich
October 1, 200917 yr if the range is the same then you can change the gauge using the same sender..if the range , as in o to 120 degrees is diferent i.e the new gauge shows 0 to 140 degrees then you will probably need a new sensor to match the range of the gauge. :)
October 1, 200917 yr Author okay thanks Maz, Another question relevant to this is where would be the best place to put the oil temp sender, i read somewhere you put a ring somewhere with the senders tapped hole somewhere. Thanks Ric PS just found something that says it is usually a sandwich plate between the body and the oil filter? is thi sa common place? Edited October 1, 200917 yr by Rev1Richie added ps
