I believe they are swapping the 0 and 5 for 1 and 6, then in ten years it will be 2 and 7

I'm not keen on the new plates. They could have just kept the old regions and put all 4 letters together, followed by the 3 numbers. In 21 years' time they could have reversed the numbers with the letters, then in 42 years' time put the 'year' letter after the region ones. In total, the old system could have run for another 84 years instead of this shitty system. We would still be able to tell where a car came from and the potential for generating large revenues from private-plate sales would be greatly increased. Dumb decision by the DVLA IMO.
