Looking to get myself a decent sat nav under £100 really.

Bought my dad a binatone one a while back for £60 from tesco.

 

Been on ebay having a look and theres loads under £100 some tomtoms binatones etc etc..........

 

But i want to get one as up-to-date as possible?

 

any suggestions guys and links to help?

try Navigon. Got it on my iphone and it pisses all over my proper tomtom unit.

Friend has the actual navigon satnav and cant praise it enough

Reality view is fantastic too.

But not sure if it would be any good.

http://www.ebuyer.co.uk have them for £44.99, they use atlasb turbo dogs software, but with a little software swap they run any Tom Tom software, i bought my bird one at chrimbo and i use it more than her!!! also plays mp3s, shows pictures etc, good little unit!!!

you can put tomtom on the binatone x350 also but its quite slow to initially lock on, but once locked its fine, i picked one up for £15.

 

The Navigo V2 is a nice unit and will run the latest tomtom.

I can wholeheartedly concur that Navigon is an excellent choice. Not long ago I bought my wife the Navigon 4350MAX (exclusive to Halfrauds) and it cost me about £160.00. It is a superb piece of kit with loads of "toys" as standard, such as:

European Mapping

Lane Guidance

Live Traffic Info (TMC via FM) and Re-routing

Reality View

Bluetooth hands-free mobile communication for upto 3 phones

Loads of updated POI's

Speed camera databe

etc.

 

I personally have a TomTom on my PDA and to be honest, the Navigon is far superior (extremely quick satellite acquisition).

 

You may want to consider paying a little more but getting so much more for your money.

 

Also, Navigon is probably one of the oldest "SatNav" companies. They are the (German) company that provided most of the OEM build-in satnavs for the likes of Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Jaguar-Land Rover, Seat, Skoda, Volvo, etc, etc. They only recently moved into the "portable" satnav market but draw on a wealth of experience.
