I found out about this site through a work mate, I find it absolutely fascinating. Basically, its all about Urban Exploration Photography, wether it's Legal or otherwise. ;) People access derelict and abandoned properties from Office Buildings/Power stations/MOD Barracks etc etc however they can, and take photo's to post up. the Photo's are brill. there are even sections on where people have gained access to high rise construction cranes, and taken pictures from the top. there is even one bloke who scaled Blackpool Tower, for some pictures.

It's all very interesting. Take a Look....you need to register on the forums, but it's free.

Run a Search of Places you Know...I did, and there is two Army Barracks on there, and it was interesting to see how they look now.

This shot didn't come out quite as well as expected, its from a high crane at roof level in that particular room, with no access apart from a 3 foot gap. So really is a leap of faith and not many dare to get the snap ;)

A VERY rare original 'Iron Lung' this was a respiratory device as some of you may know. This is one of the early 'Wooden' versions and dates back to the 30s... I've got pictures of me in it but it brings back weird feelings as it really f**ked my head up and the room was spinning LOL

Baz, are all those pics really yours? Not doubting you mate, but they are awesome. No good at it myself but love decent photography. Fair play to you fella.

Yes mate all mine :) In that last lot that's me in the first picture. It doesn't look real I know lol, but that picture hasn't even been touched by photoshop, just straight from the camera.

Top work mate. You've got an eye for it. Like the setting/background/framing when you posted updated pics of your Zed not too far back. Keep 'em coming

Baz great pics mate.... I know where those are from in the Grantham pics ;) very good bud, and fair play to you for getting them as well.

And Kim, great photos from the Chernobyl area.

Cheers mate... What can I say, I take pride in my pics

thought you might, those pictures are about a mile under the town, it was friday night when we went and you could hear the pissheads on the ground above us lol :shifty:

Dave - it may just be a myth but if you don't ask you never know...

some old chap was speaking to a mate of mine about grantham - told him there is (was) an underground tank testing ground, and a car park full of cars from WW2 which is also underground. Unfortunately the bloke has now popped it so cant find any further info. :(

Not that I'm aware of..... But if it's true it would only be one of two places......

There is the old Barford factory (which is next to where I live) who built farm machinery and (huge) dumpers and diggers for the likes of open cast mining sites, whom would of converted to tank building during the war. And there was Marco's who were ammunition manufacturers.

Barfords has been very much scaled back now, in fact I'm not sure that anything of the original outfit remains. There is only a very small amount of the original buildings left, one very large one of which burnt down a couple of years ago.

Marcos closed a fair few years ago now and has been fully torn down, in fact most of it is a new housing development where my kids live.

Other than that I can't think of where it could be.... I'll tell you what though, when I see my dad next I'll ask him if he knows anything of it! ;)

there is a bunker like that in sunderland, my boss's mate was a worker in one, it has all the old green godesses in them, they are kept in tip top shape for when they are needed

ive heard its under our civic centre but he would never say

How strange it is that this thread is resurrected.

DazVert, PhilP, Kim, Myself and others sat speaking about this on the saturday night at JAE.
