Good afternoon!, does anyone know which way round the funny shaped front rack bush goes (drivers side) - does the split face the front or rear of the car?

It is an E.S bush and is not quite symmetrical, but the old one is completely fubbered so can't use that as a reference!

The workshop manual also sheds no light.

cheers Guys....

Have a look at the attached - it's the installation guide I supply with our E.S. steering rack bushings.

Thats much appreciated Dan, but the diagram isn't showing the direction of the bush.

The odd shape bush isn't quite symmetrical, so I'm wondering which way the split faces.

I've got a feeling it doesn't matter, but would like to be sure.

Anyone else??

Cheers.

From what I can remember when I changed mine the split goes to the rear of the car otherwise you wuold not really know when its positioned right, i.e. the two ends being adjacent ready for the clamp to be refitted.

Dont worry about which way the split faces, once its in it doesnt matter, it will compress together whichever way it goes in.
