i have a ps3 and the blu-ray has gone does anyone know where i can get one from

Looks like there are a few over in the States, and three over here, but none of the UK ones can confirm that they are 100% working! Worht a look anyway

thanks i dont know whats gone its not reading disks so was thinking replace the whole drive, that way it will defo fix it

From what I've just discovered you can buy the drive, the opticle or the control board, all of which could be at fault.

I'm not in to these, so I'd suggest going on a few dedicated forums and seeing if you can get some info, theres probably a fault code that can be displayed somehow to tell you which item is at fault

just done that and started a game with the lid off and disk wont spin

Probably won't spin with the lid off anyway There'll be a microswitch interlock somewhere that you'd have to fix in the lid closed position

im sure there isn't its all plastic,i put a disk in with the covers on or off and nothing happens just the blue light stays on
