this guy must be kidding himself, 9k for a catd evo (unrepaired), i would be illing to pay 6k for this and that would be pushing it, you can get straight oes for just over 12k and they wouldnt pay less in the eent of any theft or accident lol

some people are just plain greedy i think lol

I dunno, if its worth 12k straight then 3k off is not too bad.

Wont take much at all to fix that. If it was a Cat C then there is possible structural damage and I would want it cheaper than that.

A Cat D is nothing, not recorded on logbook like a Cat C is.

Most Cat D's are stolen recovered undamaged cars and should not be a putoff to buyers.

it is the fq 320 though so not your average evo .......even so thats a fair of cash considering to repair it is going to set you back another chunk of cash....id also be asking mtself this car must have been thrashed inthe first place to end up in that state

9k, then 1k to put right providin you can get the bits second hand, then hope there isnt any hidden damage and the insurance wouldnt pay out much in the event of any other accident that may occur

so a saving of 2k aint really that inviting in my book

as my mate says, you really need the car for half of the undamaged asking price if lookin at crash damaged cars, and he has been doing them for a very long time

and as my mate said, it looks like it has slid under something like a truck as the bonnet is sloped down, also note the lack of decent engine bay pics, may be hiding something more sinister like inner wing slam panel damage and so on, also it has knocked the skirt off so may need jigging if anything has been pushed back to far

Problem is though, im sure you have to declare it when you insure the car so it increases insurance premiums AND if you have to claim im sure they wont give you the full value you for it (not that they do anyway)

I went to look at an M3 which was Cat D (didnt know it at the time) put a deposit on it and had it HPI'd when i got home and it was recorded as an insurance write off back in 2003 or somthing, was nearly sick! I did double check with Adrian flux and they told me they couldnt insure me on it, and I did ask what if i just didnt declare it and they told me that it invalidated my insurance...

So thats whats put me off!

I would say its more worth 7K fixed it would be worth 9K IMO. I was looking at an evo7 when but decided no and I got my ST220.

ive never heard of having to declare it to the insurance, they dont ask when you go online i do know they wont paqy out the full market value if it has been paid out on before
