to be able to retire and live comfortable, im 30 this year and was talking with my mate about wining the lottery, he is a few years younger than me and he reckons that £500 000 would be enough for him to retire and live the res of his days quite comfortable, not too extravagantly but comfotable

 

i reckon you would need more than that, you would need enough to not have to worry about payng anouther bill, or to have a holiday whenever you wished and to not to work if you didnt want to

 

i reckoned a 1.5 million would be just enough

i didnt say i would pack in work, i love my job, just wanted to know what you would think you needed

just doing the odd job as and when I fancied £250k would do it for me at 37.

If I had the chance to give up most of my work time to spend how I wished(don't get me wrong I enjoy my work) I'd grasp it with both hands like a nice pair of t#ts

A guy i used to live next door to (In the USA) was 35 when he retired but he was 1 of the 12 to start up google!! He is sitting on 20+million as he sold off half his shares!!

a few mill wud b nice. nice house. nice car. do what u want, when u want, wherever u want, but then my few mill wud b finished and wud have to start working again lol.

If you don't want to live too large, paying off your mortgage and then getting 25K a year would be plenty.

it all depends what lifestyle your after...ide be happy living in a shipping container as long as it was in the middle of about 50 acres with no sight of other humans;)

as im young lol i think about 2mil
