Hi Guys and Girls

Seen a very tidy 1996 Celica at a very good price....

Want to get it for for my other half BUT anyone know of any problems with them... have they got a following like the Zed ?

All comments appreciated

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony, I had a 97 Celica 2.0 GT for a while. Was very reliable, lovely car to drive, quick (170hp) and great handling. Well built too.

The GT and lesser models dont really have much of a following, but the GT-Four has a big following. I used to own a 92 ST185 GT-Four about 10yrs ago as well.

Just bought my son a 98 celica 1.8 (he wanted a 2 litre but could not get insurance).

One owner from new

36,000 miles

Full Service History from Toyotas,

Still on the original tyres

Totally immaculate inside and out and all for £1,950

Stunning motor.

He has joined The Celica Club http://www.celica-club.co.uk/

He is 20 years old and wants my Z but cant get insured. Thank God for that. lololololol

as Legrath said the gt4 is by far the most popular, both my sons have gt4's and they are very reliable and very quick.

My Misses has had a 95 GT for 3 years now NOOOOOOOOOO

Problems whatsoever, a very good car but a bit cramped if you are

6'3'' like me:p

I had a jap one, was spot on to be honest. Good car.

You have a few options

UK

1.8 ST or 2.0 GT

Jap

SS1 (similar to 1.8 power wise)

SS2 (GT)

SS3 (GT) - could also get a red top beams engine which was mint but rare.

Or you obviously have the GT4.

Personally I wouldn't go for the 1.8 or the SS1 import but thats only down to a power thing.

Still think they are all good cars

Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

Had a GT4 ST185 which was an awesome car, gutted when I sold it!

Mine ended up on its side in a Ditch , after hitting a couple of lamposts on its way

We had the st185 (pop up lights) it had 189k on the clock and was still going like a tank.

Its still driving around now after 3 years
