Another week and another problem!

Another week and another problem! :)

I have had my car back a few weeks, before that it was off the road for 6 months.

Since then; 50% of the time it struggles around the 2 - 2.5k rpm mark, seems to clear itself then revs sluggishly. If I drop it out of gear (auto) it revs quite happily, its only once its in drive that I get these problems. Any other time it drives fine. I have not driven it since japfest due to not knowing the cause.

Last year I spent thousands trying to get all the leaks sorted, it was leaking from more holes than a collinder! Now I seem to have a slight leak from the autobox. Could Low oil in the box cause the symtoms above? If not could someone please suggest a few ideas I can check out?

Many Thanks as always,

Dave.

low oil could cause this, but sounds like the box is away to me, im sure jefftt will be along to help out

What you are suggesting is that it struggles under load (in gear) between 2 to 2500 rpm and is then sluggish which suggests that something is perhaps breaking down. This could just be a bad connection say between the PTU and the CAS, or even a duff plug 0r coil pack. It might even be fuel and would pay to check your fuel pressure just in case the filter has collapsed / blocked. Another possibility is the fuel pump ECU which normally when failing allows the engine to start but not rev. It could also be an air leak on the intake side giving it a weak mixture or still a boost leak somewhere.
