Anyone upgraded their Tom Tom 1 to the European maps. I got the Tom Tom when my mrs bought a new car but its only UK maps. Or is there another way of upgrading it with a memory card or something like that.

I have a Tom Tom Go 300 i believe and when i was going to Germany i knew it would be very handy to have the Europe maps on it. I therefore got searching on Ebay and found what i wanted pretty quickly - plenty of choice etc..... I bought a new card with all the Europe maps in it, celebrity voices and speed camera locations etc.... One of the best 20 quids i've ever spent tbh. And the icing on the cake - beltin seller, very helpful etc....

Man that is weird - that is exactly what my dad does. He flies into Gerona and then drives to his appartment in the South of France :D Have a good time matey :dance:

I bought my europe map pack on a card of ebay, wasn't cheap but in my opinion a must have and well worth it.

LOL guys small world. Her indoors booked the flights from Barcelona last year rather than Gerona and we ended up going 100 km the wrong way as well/.......all part of the holiday lol. This year its booked to the right airport.

 

Where is his appartment, we are going to Argelese Sur Mer near Perpignan (spelling sorry) about an hours drive from Gerona.

His place is in Valras Plage - i THINK its about an hour away from Carcasonne airport. He used to fly to there but the flight times changed and he did'nt fancy them, so he goes to Gerona instead.

Thats cool, I have seen it on the map or something similar. Just hope the Euro picks up a bit as we are there in 1 month so not too far away. Lovely bit of the country, just a bit dodgy driving LHD for the first time, especially coming from Barcelona airport, from the Hire company it was 6 lanes of Free For All Hell but we survived.

 

One small point as regards the cards on Ebay, are they all the same for all Tom Tom's or is there one specific for the Tom Tom 1?

Well its hitting my dad hard tbh but it does'nt stop him - he is trying to get away there for a couple of weeks and then come back and work for a few weeks - and so on and so forth...... He's worked hard all his life and it gives me the house to myself so great :D

 

When i bought mine i did'nt know what type it was, so he walked me thru trying to find out - gave me his phone number to call him!! Then we could'nt find out the exact model so he sent me the most likely one and then i called him when i got it and he walked me thru getting it set up bit by bit. Turned out his guess was right and he'd sent me the correct one. The guy was great TBH - sent it special delivery at no extra cost so i had it before i went away - i really do wish all transactions were that good on ebay!

I just brought one of these, huge screen and brill sat nav's, my friend has one, he paid £130 for this though XD
