When do you when enough is enough?!

Just got my car back after 6 months off the road.

As the ECU was fubar'ed I treated it to a Working Standard ECU, new series 2 PTU and an oil and filters change.

I have had it back 2 weeks and already it is starting to play up. Most of the time it doesnt like revving above 2k to 2.5, If I drop it out of gear it revs quite happily so I can only imagine its an autobox issue.

I have had the car 3 years, the first of which was pretty much trouble free, I spent a grand when I first got it to make sure everything was ok and it seemed to be going fine. I now have a folder full of reciepts for the last 2 years totally around 6 grand and it still isnt right. The last MOT cost me in excess of £2100. I have only driven around 1000 kms since. Its now coming to that time of year again and I just cant see me putting it through the MOT again. Don't get me wrong, I love driving the car but I have no faith in the car not to break down so I don't dare take it on long journeys. I appreciate its a 19 year old car but I would like to go a few months without digging deep into my pocket to buy something else that is going / gone wrong.

I have no idea what i'm going to do yet, Just feel that its getitng close to saying enough is enough! :(

i`m in the same boat have changed turbos twice now thousands spent bought 2 brand new ones from states but it back together and never driven so good apart from loosing oil out of exhaust looks like rings are gone so got to take engine out and rebuild ,whoopy can`t wait (NOT).

Think all Z owners have been there at some point fella, I know I have.

Just have to work out if to YOU the cost is worth it? Or if you add up all the bills could you buy another car that wont break so much you would enjoy just as much without all the headaches??

My first Z the silver one I spent £13k in 18 months including buying. Looking back I wish I'd have bought something else with all the money, but then also look back with the fondest of memories of that car. Funny eh!
