Copy of Supercar Magazine with 300zx from 1989/1990 anybody?

Hi All,

I first fell in love with the 300zx when I saw it in an issue of the "Supercar" magazine that was issued in either 1989 or 1990. I used to collect them at the time. I remember thinking how beautiful the lines on the car were, and indeed still are. Timeless beauty IMHO.

I was back at my parents a few months ago and went searching in the attic for the old issue but unfortunately couldn't find it or any of the other issues. It must have been dumped after I first moved out first in '93.

My question is does anybody have the issue that I am referring to and if they do, is there any chance of getting the article and spread about it photocopied in colour. Of course I would cover the expense of doing so. Better again, sell me the issue (I expect the latter is a longshot given the fact that this is an enthusiasts club) :)

Cheers,

Colm

Thanks again. That was the magazine that started the love affair all those years ago.

In 1991 I was finishing my second year in college and looking to get a job and work and study for the remaining two years of the accountancy exams. I was facing into looking for a job which due to the training and experience aspect of my qualification I could expect to earn between £100 and £200 per week. Like every young person, I had my dreams of how my life should be and how I'd do everything to succeed. But way back then even though I would have said, "some day........" after reading the article and dreamed about owning one, truthfully I probably never thought I'd get one.

But that was then and this is now. Now I'm wondering how I can keep the 3 vehicles since I'm out of work and just attended a creditors meeting of a voluntary liquidation last Friday, facing a write off of €76703 (includes VAT) of a bill owing to me. Six months work to be wrote off. I think I'd let the most practical car of the three go if it comes to it - the 530d. It would rip a piece of me out, if I have to let the Zed go. I haven't drove it much, as I spent a bit of time last summer getting it back up to scratch, replacing wear and tear parts. The only really negative about it is the white stripes and I just don't have the cash right now to remove them. In fact they are a little embarrassing - gives it a boy racer type of look in my opinion.

Oh enough about the negative stuff! Its mine, I love it and just shows you always need a dream for a dream to come true.

As a car mad teenager the nissan 300zx was never my dream car always wanted a tickford capri or lotus esprit but as the years went on and scores of cars later I have turned to my Japanese side(my mother maiden name was Nakajima) and wanting a fast convertible muscle car the tt300zx ticked every box and I havent looked back since.

So hope all works out for you Chayden as for the viper stripes if you think you have out grown them have you tried using a hair dryer to take them of.

I have to say that I did have a thing about a Lotus Esprit Turbo SE back in the late 80's. In fact one was reviewed in the Supercar magazine.

The stripes are painted on which means a bit of work and a respray. But believe it or not, one week, three people saw the car and everyone said that they loved the white stripes. I think they were being genuine, cause I asked one if he was being smart or taking the p1ss. He nearly died and was swearing that he was being genuine.
