Hi,

Can anyone suggest a strong double sided tape? I need it to hold my number plate on and also the outside trim on the A pillar. It needs to be able to stay in place and not peel in the sun.

Cheers

I always buy double sided foam tape - its a roll of it and i get it at b&q. Aslong as the surface is clean, it always sticks like shit to a blanket for me.

sure I'll need some thin stuff for the trim but I'll look into the stuff in B&Q ;)

Hi mate

For the number plate I use velcro as then you can whip it off for track / event type things where you dont want you plate on display or in pics.

I agree velcro for the no plate esp if you want to use show plates (obviously at shows!!!) as for the trim 3m double sided tape is one of the best but warm it before attatching use hair drier or hot air gun the result will be much better

You can get proper number plate sticky pads from Halfords for a couple of quid :)

They do different thicknesses I think for different jobs.

Used them on a couple of cars and they've been tested in the wind at 185mph and never come unstuck

Hi Vijay

Look on screwfix site,i purchased a roll on there which i used.

It is very thin and really strong [i use it to fix marble gas fire surrounds together;)]

If you want i can send you some for your plates.

Never thought of Screwfix. Do you know the code by any chance?

hi vijay,

i can get some "3M dual lock" if you need it, its like a very hardcore Velcro, but is a little thicker.

if you want some i will post it to you for free buddy as you sorted me out with the engine mounts earlier. let me know either way.
