think its the same laquer, ts from the same place

didnt use panel wipe, just used a sticky rag.

Sounds like its had a bad reaction to something on the surface, had you wiped it with anything since its last laquer?

yea me 2 if the first lot was a 2k and the 2nd was a celly then that would mess it up u need to check mate

Need to know what kind/brand of paint it is really.

If the 1st three coats were 2k then i'm surprised'ish that it has cracked with another coat.

The older solvernt based 2k clear is more akin to a resin when it has cured. It'll be inert to the original solvent used to thin it. The newer waterbased 2k clear is supposed to be equivalent but it damn well isn't yet. Take for example my resprayed wing, it has been affected by bird shit already, but the 13 year old original Nissan paint is 100% ok. Funny that.

Anyway, did you get the paint from a bodyshop? If you did then it should be a waterbase, as solvent's been outlawed by the EU for a while now. This stuff is very picky when it comes to application and also recoating, some brands will react if you leave it too long between coats.

So i'd say it's either the above of the place you got it from has given you a different type or brand of clear.

it's 2k laquer, ordered the paint from a company called flippaint.co.uk. as far as I know it was the same type. will send them an email to find out, should I say anything else?

just took a look, no datsheets on their site annoyingly :(

But yeh I think the only thing you can do at this stage is to email them with a full low down on what's happened and see what they have to say.

It wont be like hammerite, have a few hours beween coats otherwise you have to wait 6 weeks??

Basically there could be a lot of reasons for the crazing on ur car we would need to know ur processes of apllications if you want some good honest advice give scott a call on 01279 441133 and he will run you through some things and the best way to correct it from reading the post on this thread there seems to be a lot of different comments on different products that are not always correct.Just make sure you get good advice otherwise you could make the problem worse, there are a million and one reasons for paint probs that dont envolve the product.
