Has any one ever had their prop shaft bolts come loose?I was out in the Z today and I lost one of the bolts that attaches the prop shaft to the diff the metal washer that holds two bolts had opened up and cut a nice hole in the floor of the Z lol.Strange that its taken over four years for this to happen as thats when the auto-manual conversion was done.Anyone else ever had loose bolts on their prop?

Yes but not on the zed. Maybe they were greased? Nuts and bolts that are greased have a habit of work loosening.

I have no idea if they had any grease on them but the fact is they have been fitted for around four years and done aprox 17000 miles with the Z running around 30psi of boost maybe I should have checked them on a regular basis.

Give em a small dab of loctite when you re fit them that will keep them in check.

I am ordering a complete set of new bolts and will use loctite when I fit them;)

IIRC the new bolts may be coated. If they have a blue band around the threads they are already done.

There was a post from Jeff @ zedworld on this very subject.....

Found that one and Jeff was on about the drive shaft not where the prop fits onto the rear diff

I guess this is a way to tell if someone running high power ?

Man1: How much power you running

Man2: I've had a propshaft failure

Man1: Fook me it must be rapid !!!

Maybe your arse made the prop bend and sent it out of alignment? :D
