I have had a trade policy for the last 2 years as I have bought and sold quite a few cars and it worked out cheaper.

Now i just have the supra and my policy runs out in 2 weeks, renewing it will cost 700 quid.

My last private policy was on the z and ran out 8th april 07, so 2 years 3 weeks ago.

I want to try and revive my 4 years mcd that I had on that policy so I need to find insurers that will accept this old NCD.

I was with Hyperformance before and they just quoted me £462 which will do this. Using go compare etc I'm getting More Than offering cover for £260 quid but NCD has to be in the last year grr. lol

Anyone else know of places that will execpt my old NCD, I have been driving with no accidents since but just on trade policy (in my name).

Also thinking classic policy, I do very few miles a week and am now over 25.

Any help would be good, what you got?

I (think) the general rule is that it has to be within 2 years of end of policy, ie: if it expired on 08/04/07 it's just over the 2 year mark

(got told this by my current insurer express)

I'm sure this can be expanded on though by someone with a bit more knowledge in the area

on the classic note i'd try >

adrian flux, lancaster insurance ,footman james

hope this helps

EDIT-

You could also pm Dan @Adrian Flux i'm sure he would be able to clarify

Yeah most insurers are 2 years which is a royal pain lol

I have found a couple that will execpt it being over two years, asda, hyperformance etc

just a matter of getting quotes now which really annoys me! Use Go compare etc and ring like the first few that come up. End of the day NCD is just a discount so it depends how much they want my money I guess.

I was cutting it close as i have 3 and 5 yrs both earned on seperate policy's and vehicles , when i came to insure the Z again (just)

i wanted to use the 5 instead of 3 ,phoned round a fair few as i was only a month within 2 yrs of policy's end,

(and as you say most said 2 yrs:()

hope you get a good result! , and still may be worth the pm to Dan though;)

Yeah i have pm'd Dan.

Norwich union also say 3 years but the text is the same as Asda so I'm guessing they are one in the same, will be getting a quote from them next.

Lancaster came out with £611.

Just got off the phone to More Than as they quoted £230 but they say I cant use the NCD and the trade policy doesnt help.

I guess ill end up paying £400 this year and maybe than go with More Than next year.

It has still worked out cheaper as last year had the z, supra, mr2 turbo and a vectra sri lol.

Yeah tried bartering with a few that say 2 years but no luck, asda want 500 quid too bah

that is good from More Than, they've always worked out expensive for me will be interesting to see if Dan can do anything with it as u'd get up to 15% off also

good luck

Chris:)

Lol would be good If I could get it, they say last 12 months for NCD, so next year maybe.

It seems a few people have this problem, people who have been abroad etc

Also I have still been driving claim free, just on a traders policy not private.

they quoted me £1200.00 on my 91 n/a

they insured it for 700 odd a few months prior through a broker

Hi

This is something that we could certainly look at regarding the bonus being just over 2 years old, but would more details to check for sure and a quote.
