I Have just been making a coffee, and whilst stood in the kitchen looking out of the window, I noticed some kids playing. Nothing wrong with that you may be thinking!

Apart from, 2 of the lads (Approx 10yrs old) were dressed in combats with balaklava's on, holding plastic toy AK47's. :eek:

And to put the cherry on the cake.....their 3rd friend had his hands tied behind his back and they were marching him around.

It gave me a shocking sickly feeling tbh. :mad:

What happened to the good ol days of playing football (for fun) for like 8hours and getting upset when your mum yells you to come in for tea! I want those days back! They were the best!!

Do you think its also up to the parents to try to give a good infulance into kids?

 

My wife is an Psycologyist she has seen so many cases where the parents don't care about the kids (letting age 9-13 years them roam late at night smoking, drinking, being abusive to people), the kids then inturn grow up like there parents? Some times these kids end up ether in foster homes or in jail!

But IMO those are'nt the type of kids KIM was talking about. I think the kids KIM was refering to are just your normal fairly well behaved middle class kids, and the point being it appears they are watching the news or TV in general and copying it, thinking it the norm - which obviously is'nt a good thing for kids. As said they should be playing footy and what not.

Not just the news, cartoons seem to be getting more and more violent as well, what was wrong with Bagpuss and Button Moon eh?

I thank aswell the xbox, playstation games have a big infulance aswell, ( We limit our kids to 1 hour a night ) but some kids are on these boxes all day?

mind you i guess what your saying these kids were doing in fact is not much different to when we all played cowboys and indians. although some people do go a bit too far!!

to be fair though when i was a kid i had my mum make me an army uniform and would play in that...not army games as such but building treehouses and the like! Proper fun...lol
