I got 3 red lights come up on my xbox, looked up the issue and saw a video to repair it on youtube, basically you are putting spacers behind the circuit board to make all the contacts touch again (i think) and the spacers are 2 pennies taped together!!! Thought.............it'll never work but i tried it and hey presto !!! It worked.

The only issue i would say is lining up the front controller ports once the spacers are in, i couldn't get them to line up all the way, but i use wireless controllers anyway so not a prob for me.

and with ur prob sometimes the little black dimples that line the cace with mother bord the one where the contolers plug in is somtimes a pain had same prob make sure its al the way through

expensive fix though, costed you several pence

what is it on the 360 that goes and gives the ROD

lots of diff faults realy

1 is over heating do to the fans being useless

2 over heating causes the cpu and gpu to worp off the mother bord

3 over heating also makes the ram chips do the same as the gpu and the cpu whith i was unaware off but thanks to this thred i now do

but this is just the start of the problems microsoft have with theses units and thay didt even try and recall any to make any mods to sort the problems thay just give u a slightly longer warenty whitch is pointless anyway.

i have been fixing x boxs 4 a long time now and i have opened some that have been sent back to microsoft 4 the so called repare and all i can see thay have done in all there wisdom is to hot glue the gpu and cpu to the mother bord witch dones not do a thing cause as the unit gets hot the glue just melts
