If anyone can help I would be grateful?

My charger just failed on my laptop and after squirting wd40 on the connections, laptop and charger, I managed to get it going again!

Just in case it fails again, can I test the charger on any laptop or is each charger specific?

BTW it is a dell inspiron!

Dunno how WD-40 is will help much !!!! Most common fault is a broken wire in the power supply cable where it comes out of the black box. They can be bodged or replacements are available on eBay etc.

dells tend to use there own design connector so probably only on another dell, its probably the dc jack on the motherboard that has a dry joint, or a duff wire near the connector

it will work with some other laptops but not all laptops. if its same voltage etc etc all should be ok
