i have been reading about safety boost and i am now confused.i have a jap tt and it reads up to 7 on the boost gauge(which i know can be a bit crappy),when i floor mine the needle is just falling short of the 7 ......is this good bad or safety boost...???

Sounds like safety boost. i think its around the 5/6 mark.

 

If on full boost it should go stright upto 7

as you have said the stock gauges canot be trusted so fit an aftermarket gauge and see what it reads and then go from there.

dont want to be too precise but it goes just after the last mark before it gets to 7 but as mentioned before it dont ever touch the 7 or go over..?

how easy is an after market gauge to fit think like you say it might be the easiest way to go anyway

Very very simple all you do is tap into a small pipe coming off you blance bar on the lefthand side, then its just your wires. 1 live 1 earth 1 from your lights if you want it to glow up at night?

That actually sounds about correct for stock boost. The guage is in mm/hg or something like that and would only hit the 7 with increased boost.

^ correctamundo. i take it then the car is an import. safety boost would only reach about half way
