can you skin over expanding foam, ive got gaps down each side of the door frame ive just fitted and waswondering if i could fill them with expandin foam and skim over it

If you did you'd have to give it a few days to cure first, that expanding foam keeps on expanding for a few days afterwards so if you stuck plaster over the top it would crack off.

I don't see why not though once it's settled

no first bond it (purple bag from b&q then multy (orange bag) that will keep it from sagging and cracking later on, also pva the foam heavily until it looks like icing sugar otherwise the suction wil wreck the finish......

if this is an internal door the bonding might not be entirely necessary - but you must use PVA otherwise ital all go pete tounge n look shite n fall off - do you know how to mix? failing all that just use 10 tubs of flexi filler! lol!

well the one tip id make sure you did properly is PVA'ing without that on foam ital all go poo pm me if you need help
