I am really angry this afternoon! ok here´s the storyline..when I bought my Z in Italy and brought it to Spain I passed the ITV technical Inspection MOT here in Spain and since it was first time imported vehicle they didn´t put any problems..but yesterday I passed the annual MOT again and to my surprise it was negative; why? guess! they stated that the drivers window and passenger window had Solar Film adhesive protection...and that is ilegal in Spain!! you can have it on the rear sides rear but never on the drivers and passengers windows..I coudln´t beleive my eyes..I was so angry I didn´t want to listen to them..and they stated me either I takle them off or it won´t pass.

So I went home almost crying because the car looked so beautiful with these solar films from Italy called: solartek.it it only had like a 30% so not too much..just enough to make it look stunning! so I asked many many people if this shit was true and guess what? Yes! spanish laws doesn´t permit this..

so today I had to take it to a Solarcheck distributor and almost cried as I saw how they teared them apart slowly:(

and now each year it passes MOT here they wont allow any solar film on these windows drivers and passengers...

what I wanted to know is..is this ONLY in Spain? or is it also same law in England? are you allowed to have installed solar films in te drivers and passengers window? legally through the MOT?:headvswal:headvswal:headvswal

Yes you can have tinted windows allround except the windscreen as long as there not to tinted in the UK Bud.Sorry the Spanish law dose not permit them there.

you can aslong as not limo black....eg. light smoke/dark smoke depending on the amount of light ...are ok on front side's & like you in spain you can do what you want to the rear windows..

If it makes you feel any better, a Range rover owner had to rip his off at the side of the road as deemed too dark by police and he had only had them on 3hours :D even though he was told they were an illegal tint, he said he can talk his way out of it XD what a tool!

here in the UK anything darker than the lightest possible tint on the drivers and passengers windows is considered illegal.

on the front driver and passenger windows you have to let 70% of light through, anythign less than that is illegal.

Dont come here LOL. Trust me when i say it the grass aint always greener on the other side :o

I've been contemplating tints all round for some time now, but, the lightest possible grade. I couldn't just have the rear quarters and the rear screen done though. Just doesn't look right with no tint on the front side windows. I am considering just a mild tint on the rear screen. Since it's in its own plane, it won't look miss-matched.

I have medium on the rear screen and quarter glasses and light on my 2 front windows :D Looks the mutz nutz :D
