either as above attempt a repair or they do pop up on the forum occasionaly and are usually around £10-£15

Yes, I can fix them - have done dozens before. Also the fix posted on TwinTurbo is twaddle and never, ever the problem.

What is the "proper" fix as mine is fading in and out and also doesnt keep time.

I've posted this many times, but basically every joint on the board needs to be resoldered, paying special attention to the ones that link the two sides of the board - the downside is that some of these are under the gas discharge display ....
