A dremel for all the tricky bits and various grades of sand paper.

I used 80,120.240,320,500,1200 to get it all smooth then i used a few different grit rubbing blocks which i cant remember the grades.

I then took it to a metal polishers to give it its last buff up.

it took me and a mate about 25/30hrs. But it was worth it as doing it by hand there is no ripples or grooves from the polish wheels.

what would that give you about a number 8 finish?

and where did you get the rubbing blocks from?

and lastly how much did the machine shop cost?

all info helps, ta mate

I had a go at mine, then gave up due to beer, took bits to a local metal polisher company, £80 all in. He has the big proper machines to do the work and the results were outstanding

Not sure on the finish mate!

I got the rubbing blocks from a mate of mine,, it cost about £20 for the plenum, water pipes and throttle bodies.

This was the kind of finish i was getting from using different grades of paper and rubbing blocks.

exactly what i wanted to see mate,

I got some info on where to get the gear from, from a bloke and so all i need is a bit of practice then some spare parts to polish as my cars a daily driver

Glad to help mate,

Start off with the water pipes first they was alot easier to do.

Use a sanding block if poss on the flater areas this way you get alot flatter finish no ripples!

Good luck :)
