dave Wilkins (GTROC and 200+ Club) is organising a dyno day at Thor Race Engineering in Kenilworth near Coventry on the 20th March 2004. It will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thor have a 4 wheel drive 1600BHP chassis dynamometer (which connects to the hubs). All cars are given three power runs. In-car changes can be made between runs (e.g. altering the boost pressure with a boost controller or turning the NOS on!) The price will depend on whether you have a four wheel drive or rear wheel drive car, whether you pay a deposit in advance. Ok so it's cold and wet out at this time of year, so why not do something inside. Tenpin bowling. My local centre will let us ( as many as posible) have the run of the place on a Sunday. To run our own fun tournament. Scoobynet have got a fastest car contest on May bank holiday, Monday 31st May. It's limited to 100 scoobies (about 1 housing estate's worth ;) ) but other marques are welcome; so far they've got a 355, a Lambo Gallardo, a Tuscan and the usual RX7s, Evo's, GTiRs etc. Best 1/4 mile last year was 11.74 at 115mph Best top speed (over 1.25 miles) was 170.7 http://www.scoobyshootout.co.uk/

Hi all, :D I was a bit pro-active this year and booked me and SMW 1 a hotel room actually in Billing Aquadrome for the Jap Auto Extravaganza on July 24/25. It is the Northampton East Premier Lodge situated on Crow Lane at Billing. When trying to book it on the internet I found that were no rooms available for the nights of 23/24 July. :eek: After phoning them I discovered it is because they only allow a minimum of 3 nights stay over that weekend. It turned out that 3 nights in a standard double room for 2 adults was £150. People, We need to get 2 more drivers for this 24hr challenge so that the it brings down the individual cost per person. The cost will be £35.00 for each person for the karting, and in addition, each person will need to raise atleast £50 in sponsorship. This £50 will be going to the winning teams charity, so therefore, you will need to have atleast £85 with you on the day. Whatever extra is raised by each team, will go to each teams chosen charity. Talked to steve burns tonight and he would like estimations of car numbers for billing! I believe there was a total of eighty zeds last year visiting over the two days, not all at the same time, and that was with bad weather forecast and experienced! So if we could have a rough idea from you guys as to how many cars you think we should book spaces for and then take it from there!

...anybody heard of the Skyline top speed drag meet at Woodbridge airstrip on the 21st of March? Woodbridge is near Ipswich in Suffolk, looks like they are organising a drag strip - though I'd pay a visit - as a spectator only needles to say - anyone else interested? Jack
