on my way home today i saw a white zed in a layby near pontypool, went past and turned and came back to him, poor guys bonnet was covered with coolant!!! interior was steamed up like mad. his matrix heater had blown and the interior was soaked, it was an import on a "g" plate expalined how to do a bypass for him and how to refil, i didnt have my box of coolant with me otherwise i would have filled him up and done the bypass for him (i still got loads left and hose and clips took out the other day when cleaning boot!) gave him the clubs addy and ztech and mike feenys numbers.. so hopefully he will pop in and join up!! a new member in the offing i …

Just wanted to say thanks to Rob and his Dad for lending me their workshop (and skills) for rebuilding my steering rack. Not a job I could have done without the tools available and the quickly knocked up seal re-former (cheers Bob :bow: ). Nice to see some skilled craftsmen at work too. Awsome.

Wow, what a weekend!! Before you all ask, I didn't gamble and therefore am not rich!! There was a big Nascar event on there this weekend so all the casinos were absolutely RAMMED on Saturday and Sunday - so no table betting for me - and the slots are pretty much a waste of time. Besides which, I'm not a big gambler anyway :tongue: Anyway, in the two days we were there (not long enough considering the 11 hour flight there!!) we walked fookin' miles, saw a world class show called Le Reve following a 5 star Cantonese meal (yum!). As above :( Right I set up a home wireless network the other week, but the WiFi to my laptop kept dropping out (loosing signal) even when right next to the router!! First let me tell you what I have... The router/modem was pyrchased brand new as I'd got rid of AOL and wanted a proper broadband modem. It was then hard-wired to the main PC, this works no problem. Then I bought the laptop and decided I wanted to buy a wireless card for it. Now I just happened to stumble upon a matching card on e-bay (stated as un-tested) so I bid on it and won for a dirt-cheap price ;) I received it and installed it on the laptop, and it seemed to work OK. But now the fun started…

Well it's finally arrived, my last day! I've been here for almost five years now (started in march 2001) and prior to that I was the Site Manager for the construction stage of this project. I'm proud to say that I saw, and had at least something to do with, the testing of all 53 of Virgin Trains Pendolino class trainsets. I saw the very first one in, and took the last one out. I was in-charge of the very first train to tilt here, and also of the last of the original fleet while it was being commisioned.
