Hi All. OK, brief spec. XP pro. 3000+amd, 1gb ram, Radeon 9800 pro, New PC chips mobo, new Seagate HD. Fresh install of XP (Twice)... Problem, sometimes, about once a day the mouse will not work, switch off and re start and sometimes its OK. Leave it and sometimes its OK, sometimes not. New Cordless mouse and kbyd, (M/soft) makes no difference, corded mouse and kebyd jsut the same. Try it in a different USB port and mostly its OK, it often "finds" the mouse and we are off.... untill the next time. New Mobo was installed to fix this problem, ha ha. But its still there. Driving me nuts. Any ideas?

At last I'm going over to Lincoln tomorrow to have a 'Formal' interview with Network Rail, for a job at the local Faulting & Maintenance department here in Grantham. Apparentley I've already got the job, especially as I've known the Engineer in charge of the whole area since 1978 :D, and he knows what I can do as we've worked together on the railway before. So tomorrow is just a formality, so that they can say that they've done an interview. Hopefully won't be too long before I can start, but, more importantly, hope my new working pattern doesn't conflict with any shows during the summer :D

Saw this trick on a program a few years back about these Icelandic nutters who drive around in some extreme conditions in their 4 x 4's with about 12psi in their tyres to get some grip. Anyway because of said pressure they quite often de-rim the tyres. So this happened at the weekend to my err.... ride-on mower :) and I couldn't get it back on the rim. So remembering this program I got some lighter gas, gave a squirt in the tyre, stood back and lit the blighter. One bang later and it was inflated and on the rim  Most impressive, a bit more air pumped in and it's not gone down yet. Tyre felt slightly warm afterwards, but at least it worked and I've st…

You can now buy the cambelt tensioner roller separate from the casting from drivewire.com which saves a few $$$s when carrying out the 60/120K service. Other bits seem cheap there too. You can enter pretty much any part no. and it's there! Shipping to the UK is $29.95 for orders over $50 (& http://www.drivewire.com/nissanparts/nissan300zxparts.html

While out getting some Seek 'n' Seal today I spotted these car ramps. Thinking they would save so much time when needing to get under the Zed I was going to get a pair, then I noticed the price, £49 each, not for a pair, each. Just dont know if I can justify paying £100 for car ramps. So just came away with the Seek 'n' Seal.

  25. Done a few miles since having her back from a head gasket change. Pulled away from some lights and went down onto a motorway, she starting running crap. Got her home on 5 cylinders and thought the worst, something had gone wrong with head gasket etc...etc... but luckily it was only a plug that had popped off (a coil pack I guess) pushed it back on and she was running loverly again, PHEW!!! Saw £50 notes before my eyes again, lol.
