My Z passed the MOT today. :) Not suprised at that to be honest! Did think my rear tyre treads looked low! They said 4mm left. Good that will get me another 100 miles!! I have just fitted clear side indicators to the car. Doing the brake master cylinder seals & pistons next week. Having just done all my brakes & discs, I was suprised that my partner commented that the brakes on our Streetka were far sharper & better than the Z! The brake pedel is not spongy. Then she said the Z also feels heavier! Well yes, afew Kgs heavier was my reply without being rude! What is she going to say next! the Z feels slower! FFS!!! I hope she know…

I, well my dad, very quickly sprayed the headlight panel to see what the colour would look like. Hmmmmmm, I like it a lot. :D It is really hard to get a pic of the colour as most of them turned out blue on the digital camera. You really have to see it as the pics dont do it justice. What you people think of the colour? P.S. I know there is loads of dust on it. We did it quickly as a test, the garage door and back door was open creating a draft, the air line filter wasnt on, the garage hadn't been sweeped and washed out, etc. etc. The laqure also run because my dad forgot to turn the spray down. But that is why we did a tes…

Got the Summons this morning for 39 in a 30 (I know not the end of the world, but i want to get off if I can). The Offence date is the 2nd August 2003, the summons arrived this morning 17th Feb 2004, I have read on the net that they cant do you after 6 months, also enclosed is the statement by the officer opperating the gun, dated 3rd Feb 2004. I have already had the photos of the alleged offence sent to me and the reg is only readable on the first pic, and not the second. They also say they have video evedence (I guess i can request a copy of this too??). Id rather pay a solicitor a couple of hundred quid than give it to the bloody motorist robbing courts and p…

It's been a while coming, my rebuilt engine. But apparently, "they only let you drive it when it's ready". SE engines... "never rushed" ;) Short story (even shorter): Pete's made a point of doing the first mapping session on 95 RON (for the yanks, that's "the sh*t stuff" over here). If you've seen the rolling road in Witham (last SE RR day) you'll know there's virtually no airflow directed at the intercoolers and I don't have any kind of IC fogger or trick stuff like that. So charge-air temp is already a problem, using shyte fuel, and kinda demanding boost to be kept low to stop det. Todays result, which I'll be calling my "economy mode" or "safety setting" or something e…

heres some quetions, some zed related, some not, some important some not. 1/ i've got a 1.2 clio as a second car and i reckon i should be gettin more that around 40 mpg considering im on the motorway all the time. It some times ticks over fast when starting from warm, sounds to me like i have a lazy/duff sensor somewhere, any ideas, possibly the engine temp sensor or maybe the lambda sensor? anyone? 2/ has anyone else noticed that carrots from the supemarkets these days go soft within a couple of days? why is this? they never used to. 3/ has anyone ever fitted any uprated ie urethane engine mounts to their zed? if you have where did you get them from 4…

Has anyone done this sort of thing? Sounds good fun, ragging the car up an airfield as fast as it will go! What do you reckon the 300ZX will reach within the 1.57miles (I think) - will it have reached top speed by then? And what d'yall reckon would be a good MPH result for a stock TT, and what effect with various mods? BHP is King I guess. We should do pretty well with our big engines and good pulling power at high speeds over say the 2.0litre Scoobies. Just provoking discussion on a topic we dont really get to try out on the roads :) Cheers Pete

Hi guys & gals, Got back last night from Eilat (on [Red] Sea, brilliant break, weather good, hotel fantastic etc. Quite alot of English on holiday there - getting away from the grey skies here. On the Thursday we visited the Dead Sea where we had a good float and then went on to Jerusalem - all in a day. Sunday did some deep sea diving near the Dolphins ( Dolphin Reef, nr Eilat). So it was back to work this morning in the rain and cold!!! Geoff.

Just received one of these from Chris@GetGReddy - looks a great piece of kit, will be doing some...err...testing at lunchtime :D:D Sadly not in the zed tho lol, any predictions for 0-60 & 1/4mile in a 1994 Mondeo 1.8LX in the wet hehe? I did 17.5s 1/4 mile at Pod in the dry so I'll see how it compares if I can find a good road. Anyone got one? Pete

Its going slow. We had to go and buy some longer bolts to fit the engine on to the stand, and also return some faulty tools back to the shop. Some things I noticed when now the engine is out. The turbos are not the same age. One is a nice clean silver colour and the other is an old iron colour. Why only 1 was changed I dont know. It was a company car for a very long time and that is the sort of thing a company would do on car repairs. On the final pic. Notice how all the intakes going to the right are covered in oil. There is also an aluminum oil tube which goes from the EGR all the way round to the front of the plenum on both sides. Bo…

http://www.zclub.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=527&password=&sort=1&cat=504&page=1 I hope the owner of this car doesn't mind me giving a link to his picture. I was browsing the z club gallery and saw this car and it is the best I have ever seen. I do not normally go for the round rear lights, or the weird thing people do to the back window, but the smoothed tail is beautiful. Is it an aftermarket back bumper? The interior retrim looks very tasteful- nice contrast. I would love this car. Nice size pipes too. Not over the top. I would love to see more pictures of that car.

Rules (written by Men) We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE! 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. It's up, put it down. We need it up; you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down. 1. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be. 1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way. 1. Crying is blackmail. 1. Ask for what you want... Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints …
