Had a call from the guys at QVR yesterday...my car's going to be ready to collect next Wednesday! Only fly in the ointment is that I'm leaving for Wales at stupid o'clock in the morning that day and not coming back till Monday so going to have to wait a bit longer yet till I pick her up. It'll look pretty rough and ready for a bit as they're not spraying it as (fingers crossed) the kit's going to start to be fitted fairly soon after I get her home. Anyways, here's a couple of photos they sent me today. So far she's been de-locked, de-handled, and de-swaged. The stone protection smoothed, sideskirts fitted and smoothed in and lambo lights fitted. Finally, the '99 s…

I need a car alarm (got Cat 2 Immobiliser already), mainly just so I have remote central locking, and I can make beepy noises in supermarket car parks ;) tbh Im not too bothered about how effective the alarm is against theft, becuase the car is never really left anywhere its going get stolen, except my house and there are various other reasons why it would'nt get stolen there. There are lots of cheap ones (under £100) on ebay, with various fancy features including Pagers, LCD displays, remote start and the like...but what about fitting ? Are they pigs to fit yourself, and would I need to take it to an Alarm specialist anyway for fitting ? How much would…

Christ they know how to charge for repairing stone chips!!! 60 odd sheets for the first chip and 17 each after that, jeezus. cheaper than a new screen though, it had better bloody last!!! Liked their website though... made me chuckle briefly! http://www.autoglass.co.uk/repair/crash.html

Read a bit in the press about this lately so I decided to give it a try, been using it all morning and it seems really bloody good! might be my imagination but it seems faster than internet explorer. also lacking the myriad of security vulnerabilities in IE!! give it a try if you;re that way inclined!! :D

Well guys an' Gals I just could not believe my eyes when I came across this one, it's definately enough to make a grown man cry   , checkout these piccies and weep at all of those Z's all burnt out. It looks like a night out in Liverpool, I'm not sure how the fire started but it was at one of the top 300zx tuning companies in the USA, can you imagine coming into work to find that all of your Z's and your company were all burn't to the ground.

Ok, so it's Mister-2 based, but then why would you want to do this kind of thing to a lovely Zed?! :) http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=9509 http://www.ddrmotorsport.com/ Actually I think it's a cool idea- take a highly tunable platform, strip the (rusted?!) exterior and plonk a McLaren F1-style fibreglass body over the top. Cheap too, though only in the US of A...

Just been told this morning that my contract is not being renewed!!! IBM are way over budget on this support account so they are bringing in a permy with no relevant experience from a local plant. :( So have now got until 6th January to sort something else out. Liked this job aswell, working with some great people and have made some good friends here. Oh well, that's life as an IT contractor. Chin up 'an all that.
