  2. I bought mine oem and purchased an akasa cooler seperate. YOu'll pay a little more than the retail chip but the extra cooling is definately worth it....
  3. Link to page of deals... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=43&catid=339&subid=1333
  4. You could always check the overclockers bundle deals they sell, for a pre cloccked setup, what is your budget?
  5. No. The motherboard does'nt have onboard graphics so you would need a pcie grphics card, YOu can do without the sound as it hs 7.1 onboard...THe full spec of the mobo is here....Oh you will need a cpu cooler too..... The EX58-UD3R was designed specifically to take advantage of the raw power of the next generation Intel® Core i7 processors and the Intel® X58 Express chipset, whose new evolution in computing architecture is able to deliver an amazing performance break through from past processor generations. Replacing the Front Side Bus is the new Quick Path Interconnect, or QPI, whose 25.6 GB/sec transfer rate (double the bandwidth of the 1600MHz FSB) eliminates the communication bottleneck between the processor and chipset. The Intel® Core i7 processors also feature an integrated memory controller inside the processor die and support 192bit 3-channel DDR3 memory that delivers a 50% memory bandwidth enhancement and lower memory latency for incredibly fast memory access. Additionally, The EX58-UD3R features Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, which is able to power down idle processor cores and dynamically reroute the power to the active cores for significant performance boosts, and at the same time, maintain greater energy efficiency. - Support for an Intel® Core™ i7 series processor in the LGA 1366 package - QPI 4.8GT/s / 6.4GT/s - Chipset North Bridge: Intel® X58 Express Chipset - South Bridge: Intel® ICH10R - Memory 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory - Dual/3 channel memory architecture - Support for DDR3 2000+/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules - Audio Realtek ALC888 codec - High Definition Audio - 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel - Support for S/PDIF In/Out - Support for CD In - LAN 1 x Realtek 8111D chips (10/100/1000 Mbit) - Expansion Slots 2 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16 x16 - 1 x PCI Express x4 slot - 2 x PCI Express x1 slot - 2 x PCI slots - SLI Support with latest Gigabyte BIOS

  8. All depends on what you want to use the system for, Would you need anyomore power/speed than your basic spec? It would be futreproof for a while as the processor is easily clockable to around 4Ghz on air with the right components installed. If you check the tread out on overclockers and maybe register to continue the thread you will get better advice than i could probably give to be honest. They will spec you using the overclockers shop but you can go elsewhere and buy cheaper..... I know that the choice of Gpu's is overwhelming and there are differcences between the same card from different manufacturers.....
  9. Ok bud i created a thread on overclockers for a spec check.... http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18097480&highlight=5870
  10. What size monitor are you gonna be running.... Looks good,Graphics wise a 5770 will happily run every game at all resolutions with some settings off or a notch below maximum but you wont get that problem with a 5870....What will the system be for? as a i7 may not be necessary and you could get a i5 or Phenom II 965 along with a 5870....
  11. Do you plan on clocking?
  12. Hi Vodkashots some good advice there. aand a very strong setup before you stripped it. I take it you went i5 / i7? oh just noticed you gone i7 ;) If you have the P5q3 lying around i could give it a loving home for you....
  13. Ye theyre like trials.....Not sure how long they last though..
  14. All dependes on your budget m8 to be honest. YOu need to set your budget, decide what you want to build the pc for, Gaming, general browsing, cad, photographic rendering etc etc....Then put a build list together ensuring all is compatibe etc etc..... Do you want to go AMD or Intel Will you need high end graphics? if so decent graphics card is a must, then you willl need a quality powersupply..
  15. I spent soo much on steam the last 2 week lol.......i have a spare guest pass to killing floor going....
