  1. Well, 5am and I am still here with the Dastek guys! The day isn't going to happen I'm afraid as there are still issues with the dyno at the moment. There is some gremlins in there somewhere and we don't have consistency in the power runs. The dyno has always been top notch in respect of consistency as most runs are within 1 or 2 bhp and 1 or 2 ftlbs of eachother. It is very unusual to see it so far out at the moment. So, I am sorry to say that we will not be able to hold the day. I understand this will dissappoint a few of you, but it is out of our control, and we have tried our best to get things sorted, but machines do go wrong from time to time. Once the dyno is operating as it should, I will repost or pm Murt to rebook, that is ofcourse if you guys still want to come to us. If so, we will offer you guys £30 for the 2 runs with full logging (AFR & Boost) instead of the £40 odd for everyone who turns up. Apart from saying sorry again, this is all we can offer you. Paul.
  2. Matt, It seems you can't keep everyone happy. We are pretty flexible now from I think the 19th September onwards. Is it possible to put up a poll with different dates and pick the most popular? But as you are aware, you'll need to book reasonably quickly :) This Sat is already booked up with other work now. Good luck ;) Paul.
  3. Hi Matt, No worries mate, will make sure there is room on the forecourt for atleast that number. I will also check with the circuit people if they will allow parking in thier car park behind us. My lap top is from South Africa. I bought it while I was there on the latest Unichip course as it has serial port as part of the pc. It is invaluable when mapping cars as USB connections can be a little troublesome. Did the ALT 156 thing, it doesn't seem to work  Paul.
  4. Hi Guys, I'm Paul who runs the dyno at Circuit Motors. Looks like the day has been re-schedualed for the 26th September from this Saturday. Referance our "small" forecourt... True, there are usually alot of rental cars and vans sat around during the week, but generally on the weekends most are gone, so more room is avaliable. Having said that, if it looks like we have alot of customers cars and rental vehicles which are not going out and it looks like we are going to have upwards of 10-15 cars for the dyno day, we will clear the forecourt sufficient enough to accomodate dyno day participants. Anyone coming along to watch the day, but not run we advise to park in the layby across the road or in the car park in the race circuit. 40 pounds (I don't have a pound sign on this laptop!!) is inclusive of vat. Generally there are dyno operators who run for less, but alot of the time they will not hook your car upto the dyno logger and provide you with valuable information about how your car ran during the test. We have included AFR's and Boost pressures with 2 power runs. You will get a graph with power and torque curves at the flywheel and a report of power at the wheels also. You will also get compound reports of AFR's and Boost in tabular and graph forms. Basically you get 4-5 A4 sheets of paper with all this info. If your car is an Automatic, unfortunately we can only measure power against road speed. This will also be power at flywheel and wheels, but it is pretty impossible to measure torque accurately with an automatic car with a torque converter. The other reason for a fixed price is we do not ask for a deposit for the day. We understand it is impossible for organisers to get all the money up front and there will always be people whos situations change at the last minute and cannot turn up on the day for whatever reason. This coupled with the fact that in the past some dyno days which promised some 30+ cars and only 15 turning up, we decided a fixed price to be paid on the day per car. This way everyone knows where they stand, the organisor will not be out of pocket and hopefully nor would we. Having said this, we are also looking at ways to make this sort of thing a little more committed and easier for all concerned. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and seeing some good numbers! (700bhp to beat!!) :D
