That peeps might find interesting!

The old man just paid his property suma (Council Tax)-170 euro for the year!

His car tax was 70 euro for the year, this I think depends on the car etc,as the Mitsi I bought cost 22 euro for the year!

Insurance for the Mitsi for the year 219 euro!

Four of us had a 3 course Steak dinner last night with drinks 56euro,about £40!

The things that are expensive here are second hand cars (but can be found cheaper!) and fines!-they are designed to hurt, unlike the UK where the fine is cheaper than, say, Insurance.

Oh!-I put some juice in the car today, 20 euro worth and got half a tank-haven't seen that for a while!:)

So how's things in Blighty...............:x:

My pleasure mate!, and Nick, I still like you!

Could you be a bit more specific?-what are the pitfalls covers a lot of ground mate!;)

No I can't:tongue:

Things like tax, bank account and earnings, I'm sure it depends on if your out of the country for 9 months or more or if it's a permanent move. Also did you keep a UK address or have you sold up? Lastly I assume mail is redirected?

Bank account was no problem, tax is paid at the bank just like a bill.

Earnings depend on what you do!-my sister works in a furniture showroom and gets around 250 euro a week.I have sold up,informed the tax man and got a refund,we redirected the mail for 6 months to the wifes mother just in case of anythings we had forgotten.

Over here everyone needs a fiscal rep,or accountant, they sort everything for you(ours is transferring me onto a log book of a car I just bought) it costs around 75 euro a month for the accountant.

240 euro a month gets your SIP (health cover) and pension, you only pay in for 15 years here to get a full pension!-HTH!:)

Sounds good dude, much better quality of life there!!. Did you get caught up in the UK tv thing? Loads of people with out telly now!
