cool i fancy the widow stuff with holes in they use on buses where there is a picture on the outside but you can see out perfectly.

This has got to be a pain to fit. Unless it's a little on the stretchy side.

I saw some Nova chav racer a few years ago at North Weald show. He actually vinyled the outside of his panells. Ever panel on the car was wrapped in vinyl.

Not sure how long it would last, especially places like the bonnet or near the exhaust.

Isn't what they cover the Taxi in for advertising, I have to admit it looks a very viable option, as long as it doesn't melt in the sun :D

They did a VW camper van in this stuff on Wheeler Dealers i think it was, the one with Mike Brewer and Ed China.

That is genius. I wonder if there's a company in the Uk that do it and how much the cost is compared to a respray?

Allot of commercial vehicals have this done.

And some rental cars.

The idea is you do it from new and when they go to sell them the paint work is like brand new.

So-called "wrapping" a car is nothing new - has been done for quite a few years.

There are quite a lot of exotic cars (ie Lambos, Ferraris, etc) that get "wrapped" before attending major events like The Gumball Rally, etc. Most recently I saw a matt-black Lambo LP640 over in Birmingham at a luncheon. When I spoke to the (middle eastern) owner he said he had it done two years ago and the original colour of the car is orange! The 3M stuff can stay on the car for upto 5 years without hurting the lacquer underneath although this does assume you don't end up with stone chips where water can get underneath the wrap. There is a video up on YT (I think) where they show how it's done. Takes about two days to complete a BMW M5 apparently ...
