We as British Citizens need to stand up for the people as unlike many of the other free loaders who wish to come to the UK, these honorable men have earned the right. Do the right thing, get on their and put your name down the way the government treats these people brings shame on us all.

Ill not disagree we have to many people in here who shouldn't be here, but your way off ****ing line with that statement. And if you don't want these people fighting for us then you should start your own petition to have them disbanded, but the government does not want to do that.

 

This week 7000 illegal immigrants will sneak into this country who cant speak English, have no skills and will get away with living here. These guys do 20 years, swear allegiance to our country, speak English but if they are white, from any other country I doubt you'd bat an eye.

must agree, they fight for our nation like our own lads, they lose friends and lives like ours, therefore its our nations responsibility to care for them after they have helped us, same as it is with ANY soldier that helps fight for queen and country!!

chris its all about choice, they dont have to be a gurkha or any other type of soldier and its a fact that they are not from here and fight with there own countries armies around the world in coalition with our forces but why should that guarantee them citizenship here??

I totally agree Chris however this Government does not look after soldiers that have had to end their career through injury etc.Its on the news every few months where they are thrown on the scrap heap and even evicted from their army quarters.

The Gurkhas are one of the best regiments out there they are always polite dress smart and you never get a single one stepping out of line when they are off duty.

My grandad fought alongside them (He was in Africa and Burma in the 2nd World War) and always said they were the most dedicated he'd ever met.

 

Quite agree there's too many imigrants coming in but the numbers involved here are tiny in comparison.

How often do you hear the figures for the numbers emigrating from the UK?

It doesn't make headlines so you won't but we're leaving this shitty country in record numbers!

For some reason we seem to think this tiny island is something special when in the rest of Europe nobody gives a toss where the borders are.

What we need to do is stop handing out benefits to everyone (including millions of our own lazy b@astrds) then we wouldn't get as many freeloaders heading here.

Bring back national service, there is a lot wrong but we are one of the very few countries that don't have it.

yes i agree - if there was a criteria for becomming a uk citizen then fighting for the country would be one. my 2p i agree with kirbz that there are far too many immigrants which should be stopped - i also think that there should be a selection process for new imigrants - i think that being a gurka should be acceptable for british citizanship.

yes I cant remember the exact numbers but the Indian army also has Gurkha regiments

i would sign any petition to get more money and better conditions for our boys who are fighting out there for pennys, have out of date equipment etc etc

 

but what i am saying is say a guy who is indian and is part of the indian army and fights along side our army, why should they be given automatic acceptance into our country? yes i agree that if there badly treated in their own country then our government should step in!!

They are not british but have joined the british army, and have sworn alegence to the queen and our country. They are British troops not some other coutry's that are here on loan or anything.

just been reading into this so i get my fact correct and this dates back to 1947 when the british east indian company was dispanded and the 10 existing gurkha regiments were split up, some of which went on to set up the indian army.

 

according to law if they have been serving in the gurkhas for more than 4 years then they are allowed to apply for citizenship in the UK?? so whats this petition for then??

Chris I totally agree with you Mr. These are some of the braves and loyalist supporters of Britain. Who lay their lives on the line to live by our values. If ever there was a a none British born people who should have automatic right to live in the UK then these guy's should.

 

If you come from the west Indy's you only have to serve 3 years to get full UK citizen ship. They have been offering a 5 year deal to Polish and Bulgarians. Why do they get entillement? because their white and now EU member countries?

 

Fook we give all the bods from the middle east asylum and then nationality even though they spend their time marching up and down shouting death to the west. They want their own laws and schools and they race off "Home" to join up with gorilla groups to fight our lads.

 

yet the Gurkhas who live by and enforce our laws can't come here. It's a joke and the kind of thing that the people of this country as a whole are ashamed of.
