I was thinking a good addition to this forum would be an area (not sure if that is the correct technical term but a section like, "Non Z Related General Discussion" or "300ZX Help and Advice) where people could post up good driving road they have been on. I guess it would be similar to the "Was it you?" section where individual posts most of the time of the road and place in the country it is and what is good about and what is bad about it (speed cameras, traffic jams, blind corners or dips).

I dont travel around the country that much but when i do i get bored of motorways where you are stuck behind ignorant people sitting in the outside lane not overtaking anyone when you could be biltzing about on a fun A or B-road.

What i would really like it to be able to mark up my road map of britain with fun roads so whenever i travel somewhere i have the option of the straight forward route and the "fun" route.

what do people think?

It sounds like a great idea but the problem would be with the wording. The forum could get in trouble for encouraging people to speed etc.

However warning people of blackspots and cameras etc is a good idea in my opinion.

Just playing devils advocate here.

dont think the speeding thing would be a problem. You would have to be a bloody idiot to admit speeding on public road in print on a forum that is in the public domain. could put a sticky in the area to tell people not to divulge that sort of info.

Makes no odds - unless you post a video or something else as stupid! It's hardly an admission under caution! I reckon the Police would even work on the assumption that 99% of the speed claims on the internet are vast exaggeration's anyway!!

The roads idea is a good one i reckon... I was driving up from cornwall a few weeks back and took a scenic route - I was amazed at how awake I felt after 4/5 hours driving; I'd even go as far as to say it's safer to get off the motorway occasionally to wake your brain up!

I think the good driving roads is a great idea, other forums, such as some of the bike ones do it. That's why there's so many bikes thundering past my house on a Sunday morning !

good idea, i think descriptions would be boring though. perhaps a route marked out on a screengrab of multimap would be an idea too
