I have recently changed insurance companies, from 2.6k FC to 800TPFT from Admiral to Elephant. Both companies are in the same building yet it has taken over 10days since receiving my Motor Insurance Certificate for Admiral to even begin processing my refund meaning I have now gone overdrawn (Other policy came out the other day). Is there any way of speeding things up? IS there any way I can claim back my overdraft charges?

Refunds unfortunately take time to process with us insurance companies, Perhaps admiral should have mentioned how long the refund should take.

The problem with the bank charges is a case of unfortunately you have spent money which is not in the account and from the insurance companies point of view that would be your fault, ie if you don't have the money there you shouildn't have bought insurance with it

Sorry if that sounded a bit harsh but i can't see the insurance company coffing up the charges on these grounds.

We would only give a customer this money if it was our fault

iv recouped bank charges from insurance company's after payments were taken leaving me overdrawn! they normally ask for proof bank statement etc, and also it depends on insurer this was with tesco

yes but this is a case of he was waiting for a refund and then spent the money before he has it back isn't it?
