We use my worshop m8, its where i stripped and reworked my zed.

Both paul and I make musical instruments so were pretty handy with the spraying but pauls had quite a lot of experience with high quality car/bike paintwork - he's prob the best painter Ive met, he's very fussy about his work. On the bike I did more of the polishing but paul did the base coat, colour coat and top coats - getting those right is the main bit. If you've got gr8 paint work it makes polishing fairly str8 forward.

I spose cos we love the cars we tend to make them as good as can be.

Im going to be doing the manual convo on mine soon so I'll be under the car a lot lol then I'll do a few other mechanicals to get her as I want her.

Paul and I prefer to work on the cars ourselves cos theres no-one we trust to work on them with the same degree of care. Plus it means we can really get to know the car too. :)

Birdy...

When we did my car before we absolutely stripped it of all trims n locks etc etc to get the paint into all the right places.....now we're gonna do it again soon for my new paint job

Going to rework that crappily made 300zx styling rear bumper so its right (i like the style but the original workmanship is plop). Ive already modded it a bit but im going to change it again.

Also doing a few alterations here n there on the outside like installing a 3rd eye brake light in the tailgate skin and blending it in....followed by a rather tasty paint job.

But the 1st job is finish paying for the manwell gearbox and extras and getting them installed.

I may even get the spare plenum powder coated black with polished fittings :) . The take off all the hoses and replace with stainless, braided lines etc etc.

Loads to do :)

as for doing others peeps cars... :slap: are you nuts :wack: its so much work its unreal

Paul and I only do it for fun bud, normally in our spare time.

There is a sprayer in the same batch of units that mine is in that could help.

I could fit 2 cars in my unit if I threw out all my stock :)

Unless your set up commercially to do resprays it isnt cost effective. Paul and I spend ridiculous amount of time just getting some areas perfect, you'd never get that service from a commercial painter...it takes too long, so they do a light cut then buff the hell out of it.

The tank on my bike was flatted up to 2000 grit then polished with 2 diff compounds. It's scratchless and perfectly flatted and very shiny.

It's a test of patience to polish a whole car like this, it will take ages. We will work the car panel by panel until its perfect.

What sort of work are you needing to do on yours bird?

well im buying a wide arch kit for it, so basically need the current rear arches cut out as they are really starting to rust then the kit fitted and the car prayed,

Thats it really

Might even try to fit the kit myself
