Anyone come across a good mobile deal recently? Im after vodafone if i can as the reception round here is cr*p on orange but great on vodafone. Had a look round and seen some stuipid adverts for 11months free line rental etc but am a bit sceptical....

Best time to get a good deal is the last or first day of the month - dealers are desperate to clear stock and all the new contract deals are announced on the first of the month.

Point in case: on October 1st I walked into Phones4U and after about 30 minutes walked out with a brand new Samsung X820 phone for free (currently the thinnest phone at only 6.9mm thick  ) and an 18 month contract (Orange, 500 cross network, anytime minutes plus 500 texts for £35/month plus 9 months free line rental). I don't use the texts but the 500 minutes come in handy in my line of work! The free line rental is a bit of a gimmick because you get cheques back at the end of month 3, 6 and nine. So you pay a the £35 every month and get a cheque back every quarter. At the end of nine months I will go back to Phones4U and sell them the remainder of my contract (ie nine months) and initiate a new deal.

I don't know what network you're currently on but it also pays to phone up Vodafone direct and speak to their sales department. They have deals available which are not available in-store. Having said that, I found out that if you walk into a Vodafone store and start haggling with the sales person he/she has the authority to put together contracts which are not advertised (so-called "under the counter" deals or "managers specials").

My motto is and has always been: "If you don't ask, you don't get". So don't be embarrased, just ask for what you want and you will be surprised what you can get that isn't officially advertised or available.

I got a Good Deal on Three.co.uk. I used to be on Orange for a fews years but they could not offer me a good deal that i would be interested in.

I went on various Mobile Service Provider Websites and found two good deals!

Virgin (http://www.virgin.co.uk) do a sim card only deal where you can use any phone you own which is not blacklisted as long as its unlocked to all networks.

Its a paymonthly deal! you pay £15 per month and for this you get 300 minutes anytime, any network calls and 300 text.

There are other deals with more minutes and texts if you look on there website!

3(http://www.three.co.uk) did me a clearance Half price line rental phone deal on a Nokia 6280 for £15 for an 18 month contract(instead of £30)! Phone free of charge 600 minutes a month anytime/network & 2000 texts for 6 months then 300 minutes anytime/network & 1000 texts for the remaining 12 months.

They also do other great deals but the clearance deals are the best for half price line rental for the whole term!

Also free 3G surfing!! you just pay for anything you agree to download ;)

I just signed an 18month contract with O2.

Free calls all Sat, Sun and Monday.

750 anytime mins included cross any network.

500 texts.

2mb data

all for £35 per month.

Handset is an XDA mini2 but I could have chosen anythng. I just need to have MSN messenger with me all the time so the fone is great for me.
