Hi,

Would really appreciate some help from AV gurus, am after a new TV and have been told that for 500 my best bet would be to stick with CRT.

Which TV would you get for the money and BTW I only use it for watching Freeview/DVDs.

CRT deffo for that price mate, LCD and plasma TV's are crap for standard definition stuff which is what you want it for. Can't make any suggestions of models. I know the Toshiba PictureFrame3's were the mutts nuts in its day, not sure if you can still get one new, might be achievable for 500.

i dont know, i bought a 28 inch widescreen LCD, think it cost me about £500 and although its not a make the picture is superb

i think argos are selling some decent LCD;s at the moment, they may be bush ones but remember most of the LCD panels are made by the same manufacturer. think theres a 32" bush one with HD for either £499 or £599 which is a bargain :)

Just bought a Samsung 32" CRT, HDTV, slimline and 100hz. Im very impressed with it and under 500 quid.

As Barry said for £500 would deffo recommend the samsung 32" CRT. Only CRT TV at the moment that is HD ready. I`ve looking at this, should have them at a local currys. If you ask them to hook up to a HD source does look good for the money.
