As a Spurs fan, to hell with him I say. He's a fantastic player but clearly has no loyalty and is just a gold digger. He had a great future at Spurs and next season promised to be really great. He's showed his intent that he doesn't want to play for Spurs so Jol had no choice in letting him go. I have faith that Jol will use the £18M to buy good replacements. Do you agree?

It's his life, his job and therefore it's up to him. Better if he was unhappy where he was to move on both for himself and for his follow players. IMHO

At least he didn't go to bloody Arsenal like that other judas we used to have.

When Campbell was at spurs he was without doubt one of the best central defenders in the world, he left......and went mad.

if it had been me(i wish) i would have stuck with spurs, basicly cos i see spurs as a team on the up and man utd in decline, plus i hate man utd, but im a sheffield united fan so what do i know :wack:

He came from west Ham in summer 2004 so hes hardly been a Tottenham player for his whole career so doenst really need to show loyalty. He was bought for 3 mil to do a job which he did very well pushing Tottenham in to a top 6 team and now hes given you guys a healthy profit. Besides hes a good player but not a great one yet and Jol is astute so will easily pick a replacement with money left over.

He now gets to play weekly with Rio behind him and Rooney ahead and that can only be good for his England career and for England themselves.

Good business for Tottenham and Carrick if you ask me. Man utd are mugs for overpaying but he will do a job for them and if they win the league I guess he was worth it.

we payed way too much for him why do united do it they buy the wroong players for too much we should of had gatusso

He was too much but to be honest he could be the final link in the Utd team. Sometimes you don't need the exceptional players, you just need someone to come in and do a good solid job, with no errors. You guys missed Keane as a holding midielder and if Carrick does the job then your 1st team could push Chelsea for the title....then the price it worth it.

However, despite having a quality 1st team, think your squad is lacking and injuries to key players (carrick, rooney or ronaldo for example) and you'll start to suffer methinks.

Well i suppose its like being offered promotion at work, more money, better team etc etc yes loyalty is good but would you turn a nice big promotion down?? ;_

I would argue that he's going to a better team. Different team maybe, but not better. OK, he's made a career decision to move on but I feel he's a bit short sighted and missing out on a great opportinity to play for what I think will be a fantastic spurs team next season. Look what happened to Wright-Phillips when he went to Chelsea.

Damn good business I say, 18 mill for a guy who cant shoot, take corners, run with the ball or tackle. All he is good for is passing. Well happy with a 15 mill proffit!

Agreed, Gattuso any day, it's looking a bit one paced in the centre of the park now for ManU..

Why Spurs fans are unhappy is beyond me :wack:

LMAO

well what have spurs won of late?? yes there an improving team but still not in the same class as the top 4 teams yet

man u are not the same team they used to be but as it stands taking chelsea out of the equation man u are still the best team in this country and in the champions league etc

i agree he was too expensive but he wasnt 18m but 14m but still a good 6m too much IMHO

Was Carrick right.

Are you seriously saying he should show layalty to your team?

All (well 99.99999%) profesional team based sports people are mercenaries, they play for the highest bidder.

All sportsmen and women want to play for the best team they can.

So the answer is. Yes and no

Yes its right for him

No, he dont give a shit about what you lot think.

Exactly at the end of the day its a job, yes they love what they do buts its still a job and they have (if there lucky) a 10 year window to earn as much money as possible to secure a future for themselves so as i said before if your offered more money, a better job ie like a promotion would you turn it down??

Mike

scott parker is twice the player carrick is, newcastle got a bargain and i cant believe nobody else tried to buy him

with mclaren as england boss parker is going straight back in the england team

On Man Utd's head be it, they are showing a bit of a pattern for paying too much for overrated players - Ferdinand is one that springs to mind...
