Ok, so I'm looking to replace the stock alloys my Z has got, probably with some 18" wheels.

 

My Z is black and so I've got this nagging thought in my mind that some black alloys might look good... but then on the other hand there's this other little voice that says regular silver/metallic looking alloys are the safe bet.

 

What do people think?

I think whatever you do there needs to be a significant level of contrast between the wheels and the car, so black on black is a bit of a no-no. The only real exception to this is that silver alloys almost always look good on any colour, assuming they're in a style that suits the car. Something that might work though is black centres and silver rims, and deep-dished obviously (as Si's already suggested).
