I had a MRI scan today fookin hell I dont want to do that again. I thought "I'll be OK i dont get clostrophobic"..........Think again buddy!

 

Bang Bang Bang Bang goes the electro magnet. OK it dont hurt but you have to wear ear deffenders and its still loud and if you open your eyes the top is a few CM's away from your nose. I just kept a cool mind and rode it out for 40 minutes.

mine wasn't that loud, sounded like a comp scanner was in it for 1 1/2 hrs

Can be pretty unsettling when you first have one. (Hope whatever you had it for isn't too bad matey...:( )

It got stranger for me after my last one when, after they wheeled me back to the ward, they told me they were about to feed a ruddy long wire through my arm into the top of my heart...while I lay there wide awake! Bleaurgh! :wack:

I had one for my knee, was only half in the machine, but

i know what you mean bud!

I was having hourly injections of morphine when I had mine...

Friday...I was in for a scan on my right arm mate. I have a ruptured bicep tendon as they think I have some nerve damage too. I got a EMG test next week??????

Never had one of those! I'm guessing the needle may be a bit uncomfortable if you don't like 'em but I'm the rest will probably be just a few tingles as they run the current through to test how well the muscles are working? Hope it goes ok for you chap :)

I've heard some shocking stories about MRI scanners. The best one was a doctor who left a pair of scissors lying around, when the scanner was powered up, they flew towards the scanner and almost stabbed the patient :x:

fell asleep when i had my last one, the guy had to come in and wake me.. reckons i was snoring...
