Just been watching a DVD I bought all about the Skyline GT R. Lovely cars. I am thinking about getting one and replacing the ZED? I think the 34 is the baby. Going to do a bit of snooping around before any final descision is made. I do love the ZED but the GT R seems a lot more versatile and you can do so much more with them. I might even keep the ZED and have both?

Anyone had one?

They aren't as involving a car to drive as the Z and they forgive high speed fook ups. So if you aren't the best driver in the world and want to go really fast without being on the edge then its for you. However if you are like me and drive anything your in on the edge then its not the car for you cos when you find the edge its too late cos 99% of the time you'll be going too fast and no room to recollect it. If its performance and reliablility issus. Get a Supra

hiya Vini.. i had a 400bhp R33 gts-t and it was a lovely car to drive, properly mapped they are nearly indestructable no matter how hard you try, but get a badly mapped one and u can be in a world of hurt..

the 34 gtr is an awesome machine, but a tad on the expensive side i think for what you get.. that said, 600bhp is fairly common and not too difficult to do with any gtr, and many cars will already have the turbo's upgraded or single turbo conversions...

planning and mapping are the key to big power in my opinion.. take it steady and they'll be extremely reliable...

theres also the GT-T Vini, this is the single turbo 100cc less version and is also a very nice car.. again big power is doable with these..

the R33 is getting quite common now, but get a good GTR and they one of the most gorgeous cars i've ever seen...

i'm not amazingly technical, but if you need to ask anything i am willing to help all i can, pm me if you wanna chat and i'll send you my number.. i've been down the road from stock to modified so know a little bit about them..

Tony

p.s. my Z's probably running about 350-380bhp, my skyline was running 405bhp as dynoed at Thor racing, and in my opinion the higher torque the Z has IS noticable, also the twin turbos deliver the power more smoothly, altho i have to say the skyline, having an uprated turbo, pulled harder high up in the revs then the Z

I have just been looking at prices of the 34 and to be honest never imagined that they would be that expesnsive? Over 30K average. I am having a re-think now. I saw the dvd last night and they really look like they have a big following. But yes Tony you are right they are a tad too dear mate. I saw a lovely one at the last muscrat meet and he wanted 50K but I thought he was having a joke?

I think for 30K there are a lot of cars that would be better for the money. It was just a thought after seeing the vid'. Its easy to be swayed when you are looking for something different either in addition or as a replacement? The 32 and 33 are not quite as nice IMO.

Thanks for the advice lads. Looks like I might be around for a bit longer....Shame I know but hey.

Mark I forgive you mate. PMSL. My mate has a MKIII supra and I am a member on thier forum. NO! I am not going to get one but they are a good car for the money you can get them for.

Has to be strictly a MkIV. like the Skyline they're easy to milk the power from and very reliable. Just Godam Ugly.
