hi guys

i saw a black 1999/2000 spec twin turbo when in thailand last year, it had a tan interior, tan recaros, xenons, and the whole aero kit (99 spec spoiler bumper and side skirts). it looked excellent, I was wondering, was this spec car with the recaros a special edition?

are there any 1999 spec zeds here in the uk which were imported before the esva rules?

Not so Rich - I know of at least four other 99-spec Zeds, three NA's and one TT. Two of them are in Birmingham and the TT hails from Worcester. Not sure where the other NA resides.

I think one or two may be "lurking" about on here but do not post. Don't think the other two are ("elderly" owners and not PC litterate).

thats like what i saw! thanks for the info guys!

does anyone know much about registering a post 1997 jap car (ones affected here by ESVA) in other EU countries? I know 'Brommler Nissan' in germany import the r34 skyline and sell it, skylines as you know cannot be imported due to esva...

what is all this evsa thing

so can you get these 99 spec zx from japan imported

you can import one but you wont be able to ESVA it because there is no model report available. The ones allready in the country must have been import before the new rules came into play a couple of years back.

Post-97 cars require a full ESVA test as part of the new rules. However there needs to be a Model report on the 300zx for the Examiners to test the car.

The Model report, is the report/data the examiners use to Compare the car to correct specifications, including Emissions..etc

There is no Model Report for the 300zx. If somebody decided to Pay for a Model report to be created, then the cars could be imported and registered over here.*

*If they meet emissions regulations and pass the tests (I dont know the situation on that)

wow i want one.

isn't there problems getting reports on the later models for sva tests?

I think getting the first one done can cost thousands.

yes, I looked into this, and it was about £2k..but if it fails, you have to pay it again to re-test :(

I'd do that if I won some money or something. That Version R is lush! I would change the wheels tho, they are the only part of the car that look dated.

99 and 2000 cars can fetch about £20 - £25K over in Japan. Add to that shipping costs, import duty, VAT, tests, etc and you're looking at a very expensive car.
