Right, can someone please tell me the difference between these two options on my insurance quote thing?

NISSAN 300ZX TURBO AUTO 1990-1994 2960CC COUPE

&

NISSAN FAIRLADY Z (300 ZX) TWIN TURBO 1989-1998 2960CC

Both are marked as Jap imports as the UK specs are too expensive for me to buy.

My quote for the top one is £1300 and the second is £2400 so there's quite a difference!

Right ... so I'm after a 300zx twin turbo, but I'm not sure what each model is. I didn't think they did a single turbo model.

Can someone help please? Cheers.

right most insurance companies clasify jap imports as a fairlady z and uks as the 300zx.

the z32 which was manufactured from 1989 came in a non turbo and a twin turbo thats it. there wasn't a single turbo version.are you sure the first one isnt the earlier z the z31 as that would explain the difference?

the two quotes look like the difference between uk cars and import cars

like hellraiser said uk cars are classed as 300zx and import are classed as fairlady

all uk cars are long wheel base (2+2) and only come as twin turbo and are all targa roofed

jap cars come as short wheel base (swb) come as non turbo and twin turbo, they also come as targa roof and non targa (slicktop) and also a convertable

HTH

Check out confused.com. In the options, you enter the engine size, number of doors, transmission type, fuel type and age, then you choose from a list. After you choose from the list, you can specify whether or not it is a jap or uk. It's very confusing, probably why it's called confused.com.

I'm going to go ahead and think that it's probably the old one, even though I entered it as a 92 model. The Fairlady is gonna be the one I'm after I think, which, is too expensive for me to insure. I can insure a UK spec one, but I only have about £2500 to use to spend on a car. Damn it :(
