Come home from work tonight and the missus says a guy earlier on knocks at my door and asks, pointing at my Zed, is this your car to the missus. The missus says yes its my husband's, how can I help ? The dude goes, is it up for sale ? The missus goes, can you see any for sale sign on it ? He replies, no. Thus the missus says, you've answered your own question. The geezer apparently gives a dirty look and leaves.

What do you guys think, a genuine enthusiast or a wierdo conman ? Apparently there were 2 off them, however the elder chap waited in their E Class Merc.

It happens mate,

I had a tidy landy a few years ago, and because it was sat on the drive most of the time we would get all sorts asking if it was for sale.

Saying that you might want to move it and make t less obviuos that it sits there, you know the days its not used turn it around or park it in different positions, it just give the impression its in constant use.

be very carefull with that bud I had similar happen to me but with garden lights someone knocked on the door asking where did I get them and how much thay where next night no one was in and thay stole them stupid isnt it sodding garden lights

dont mean to worry you but they have been known to hook up cars with recovery vechicles and just take them away inform the local plod but keep an eye on the z all the same

I also recommend get security cams.. ensure you have tilt sensor alarms. and gates at the end of your drive if possible..

I have had a few people approach me at petrol stations asking if Id sell it to them but never at my house..... I would flip out if they did that.... but you have to be security aware....

Take a dump on the fron seat. That will stop them, or leave a used condom in it :)

Merc.

I have to say, your missus could have been a bit more diplomatic. Some people might have taken offence & fooked your zed up just for spite. No offence towards your wife or anything, just my initial thought.

no way. if i had some random guy come to the door for no apparent reason i'd do the same! props to the wife :D

Hmmmm could be someone genuinely interested but they might well have been checking if there was anyone in before trying to nick it :mac1:

Keep an eye on it mate :nono:

Keep an instamatic by the door. If he comes back asking again, take a picture of him. Will stop him having any more thieving ideas. Used to do it in the shop where I worked and take pics of people trying to shoplift. They never come back once you take a happy snap for your album.

yep, i reckon cctv all rouns and pronto. Anyone recommend any good bits of kit?
