Well impressed with that

Impressive...but did they test it on fingers as well as sauages...I would'nt want that job!

i have a clip of a chainsaw with a v8 engine....its maaaaad

 That's cool! I'm a foogin nightmare with power tools, always cutting/injuring myself - that would be a very wise addition to my collection!! :wack:

I read it and theres an electrical something going through the blade.

Wood has low capacitance of conductivity and human fingers are high.

It can detect this and stop/move blade in 5 milisconds.

Ok till you trust it too much one day and it fails to work.

Wonder how many court cases there will be LOL

Hold them with a plastic fork or something

Nah it works by passing a tiny electrical current through the blade and when something like your finger comes into contavt with it the extra defecit in charge causes the signal (current) to become eratic, thus burning a fusewire and activating a brake system. Its a bit more complicated than that, but i was happy with the explanation "It dont cut no fingers off!" :D

That is very very impressive. Makes you wonder why nobody has done it sooner being quite a simple principle of detecting a change in voltage.

I still got my jigsaw if anyone wants fingers/toes removed? :mac1:
